Lockdown on the NE250 – What’s Next?
After many weeks of being in Lockdown and the light at the end of the tunnel being closer than a few weeks ago, you can feel the sense of positivity in the air on the NE250.
With the phases in place and us feeling more positive we want you all to feel positive with us, 65% more of people in the UK are now booking ‘staycations’ and wanting to embrace what Scotland has to offer, which is music to everyone’s ears. We are unsure of dates like everyone else and when this will happen but what we do know is that when all this is over is tourists will flock for their staycations and truly embrace the beauty of the NE250. What is the North East 250?
The North East 250 is the ultimate road trip to the heart of Scotland! The NE250 explores everything for what Scotland is truly famous for, taking you through the whisky distilleries, famous castles, the food that will get your taste buds tingling and the outdoor adventures where you can make memories that last a lifetime.
The NE250 is made up of local businesses in the area that really are the heart of the NE250, you will truly find yourself on the NE250 from the history and heritage, food and drink and the Outdoor and Adventure. It’s a journey like no other.
Do you have a map?
Yes, we have a map on our website which is suitable for everyone. Easy to follow and guide you round. We also can provide you with itineraries for your trip, they are split into 3 different categories of History & Heritage, Food & Drink and Outdoor & Adventure. All split over 3 days per itinerary.
The route is suitable for cyclists and drivers, we have plenty of advice on our website for you all.
Can you provide accommodation?
We work with many different types of accommodation throughout the NE250 and they are all on our website. You can stay in a cosy B&B one night and a Bothy the next evening, you truly have the best pick of accommodation in North East Scotland
When will we be able to visit the NE250?
Currently, Scotland is still in lockdown and we are still being told to stay at home except for some small amount of interaction with local friends. We will be following guidelines and make sure that before the route is available that we will also work closely with all the businesses around the route. We want to ensure the safety of our visitors and importantly the businesses we work with and of course extra measures will be put in place, something we will continue to update you all on mainly on our social media which you can follow on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
