The NE250 Route – The East Coast
The next stop on this journey is the East Coast Heading north from Aberdeen; the route takes you up the East Coast to Fraserburgh and the beginning of the Moray Firth. The most surprising thing about this stretch of coast is how many incredible fine sandy beaches it has; grab your beach towels!

Kelpie Cottage
The cottage has spectacular views, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite). A small enclosed yard to the rear and a bench and parking area to the front. Included in the price is electricity and heating, a basket of logs and kindling for the log burning stove in the cottage, cupboard items such as tea, coffee. There is a smart tv, should you wish to use it (the view is the best tv!) and WiFi. The house is a traditional fishing cottage in a quiet village situated on the NE250 route.

Peterhead Prison Museum
The former Victorian HM Convict Prison Peterhead is unique in scale, had the first state-owned railway in the UK and part of the history saw the only time the SAS was used to end a domestic siege in Britain.
The museum highlights the work of the brave personnel that served here between 1888- 2013, you will visually see what “real” prison life was like, whilst listening to the officers speak of their experiences as part of the audio tour that accompanies your tour and your sense of smell will be stimulated as you enter the laundry, shower block and hospital areas’.

Museum Of Scottish Lighthouse
The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses tells the history of Scotland’s lighthouses from 1786 to the present day using artefacts from our Recognised Collection of National Significance, including the largest display of lighthouse lenses in the country.
Included as part of admission is a tour of the historic Kinnaird Head Lighthouse, preserved today as a manned lighthouse. This unique site was originally a castle, and converted to Scotland’s first mainland light in 1787.
Our enthusiastic guides bring its history to life, before allowing you to see the breathtaking views from the top. The Museum boasts a well-stocked shop and a nice café with views overlooking the Moray Firth.
Delgatie Castle
Delgatie Castle is a 4 star visitor attraction which dates back to the 15th century and is steeped in history but still gives the feel of a lived-in home.
There are amazing painted ceilings in the rooms dating back to 1592 and 1597, fine portraits, four-poster beds, a child’s four-poster bed, dolls houses, and so much more to fascinate and entertain the visitor.
Our pretty little tearoom serves the very best in home baking. Scottish Home-baking Award Winner and food which offers a taste of Scotland with local produce being used.
